In an effort to provide a clear and justifiable explanation to all prospective attendees of the upcoming International Ministries/Workers Retreat, scheduled to take place from the 18th to the 21st of March at the International Conference Center in Imkeo, Ogun State, Rector Taiwo has addressed concerns regarding the price tag associated with the conference.
The Rector patiently elaborated on the significance of the conference, emphasizing its role as a platform for individuals to enhance their knowledge of biblical definitions, theological instincts and the sustainable practices of the Church.
V/S/E Taiwo further explained that, considering the current economic climate, ₦7,000 is a reasonable fee that cannot cover all the essential components of the conference, such as printed handbooks, souvenirs, conference bags and identification tags. Additionally, the conference requires a high-quality sound system, as Imkeo town lacks the necessary infrastructure to meet the conference’s primary objectives. To ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the four-day event, four generators will be utilized, each requiring 25 liters of petroleum. The ₦7,000 charge will be allocated towards the arrangement and execution of the conference.
The Rector, who keenly observed that the theology Church charged a sum of #5,000 the previous year, acknowledges the undeniable fact that the price of highlighted materials has skyrocketed beyond human imagination in the country.
In light of this, the Rector asserts that it is imperative to train and retrain shepherds in order to enhance and disseminate their knowledge. This is because it is essential for every organization to systemized its workforce and meet the standardization of principles that guide such organizations. The Church has embraced the modernization theory, recognizing the need for continuous development and growth.
Furthermore, the Rector emphasizes that no amount is too expensive when it comes to expanding individuals’ knowledge. This investment will greatly assist Shepherd in effectively managing a Parish and fulfilling its purpose as a Clergy. The Rector further explains that the school will collaborate with the Head of Dioceses, State Evangelists, Head of Divisional Headquarters and Head of Province worldwide to organize seminars for Shepherds and Workers in their respective areas.
The Rector recognizes the importance of adapting to the changing times and investing in the development of individuals within the Church. By prioritizing training and collaboration, the Church will equip its shepherds with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively serve the Church and fulfill their divine purpose as a servant of God in the fold.
