Celestial Church of Christ in Edo State is set for a remarkable spiritual gathering as CCC New Etete Parish District Headquarters, in conjunction with Emmanuel Prophetic Ministry, prepares to host a special revival programme titled “The God of 1947.”
The two-day power-packed vigil is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 30th July and Friday, 31st July 2026, from 9:00 p.m. till dawn, at the church premises located at 3, Power Line, Opposite PHCN Transmission, Etete Quarters, Off Sapele Road, Benin City, Edo State.
The programme carries the inspiring theme: “O Lord, Let Your Power Fall Upon Me” (Acts 1:8)
According to the organisers, the revival seeks to rekindle the apostolic power, prophetic grace and manifestations that marked the birth of Celestial Church of Christ in 1947 through the ministry of the late founder, Saint Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa. The event is expected to feature prophetic ministrations, deliverance sessions, soul-lifting worship and spiritual declarations aimed at bringing revival and divine encounters to worshippers. The Celestial Church of Christ traces its divine origin to September 29, 1947, through the ministry of Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa in Porto Novo, Republic of Benin.
The host of the programme, V/S/E Prophet Emmanuel Otus Oviawe (A.K.A General), will lead the revival alongside several anointed ministers and gospel singers including Min. Michael King (Son of Grace), Prophet Mayowa (Ogo Cele), AMB. Prophetess Ehimen Ifada, V/M/S/E P.R.O Emoruwa, and Prophet Damilare (DSM).
Music ministration will be provided by Peniel Voices Choir, while attendees are expected to experience prophetic declarations, deliverance and manifestations of God’s power.
As part of the outreach component of the programme, the organisers have also scheduled a charity visitation on Saturday, 1st August 2026, where support will be extended to widows, orphans and the less privileged in society.
Speaking ahead of the programme, the host and Shepherd, V/S/E Prophet Emmanuel Otus Oviawe, popularly known as “General,” described the revival as a divine assignment to reconnect believers with the supernatural power that birthed the Celestial Church movement.
He stated: “The God who began the Celestial Church in 1947 is still alive and active today. This programme is a call to return to the altar of prayer, holiness and absolute faith in God. We are trusting God for salvation, healing, deliverance and fresh empowerment for His people.”
The Shepherd further encouraged members and non-members alike to attend with expectation, saying: “The theme of this revival is not accidental. We are praying that the same power that descended upon the Apostles and upon our founding father, Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa, will fall afresh upon this generation for greater exploits in God’s vineyard.”
The programme is expected to attract worshippers from across Edo State and neighbouring regions as believers gather to experience what the organisers describe as “the moves of God as of old.”
