26 years after his passing, the legacy of Pastor Abiodun Alexander Bada continues to speak volumes about his commitment, discipline, administrative brilliance and unwavering dedication to Celestial Church of Christ.
Pastor Alexander Abiodun Bada was a man who committed virtually every aspect of his life to the service and growth of the Church. Having joined Celestial Church of Christ in the early 1950s, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to the work of God and continued to serve faithfully until his last breath.
His journey through the ranks reflected his commitment to the Church. He left his secular employment to work full-time for the Church, becoming a Senior Elder in 1954, Leader in 1955, Senior Leader in December 1960, and Evangelist in 1964.
On 24 December 1972, he attained the rank of Senior Evangelist, and on 25 December 1980, he was elevated to the historic rank of Supreme Evangelist, becoming the first person to attain that position. The rank placed him immediately next to the Pastor, Rev. Prophet Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, in the hierarchy of the Church.
Today, 8 September 2026, marks exactly 26 years since the passing of this great servant of God, who departed this world on 8 September 2000.
Twenty-six years later, the footprints of his service remain visible. The structures, reforms, administrative systems and initiatives he championed continue to remind generations of Celestians of a man who understood that the growth of the Church required not only spirituality, but also discipline, organisation, vision and purposeful administration.
Pastor Bada’s contribution to the development of the Celestial Church of Christ remains a significant chapter in the history of the Church. His doggedness, discipline and commitment to institutional development earned him a unique place in the story of Celestial Christianity.
His life demonstrated that true service to God is not measured merely by the length of one’s tenure, but by the lasting impact of one’s dedication.
