This image captures the essence of Celestial Church of Christ, a religious institution founded on principles of love and respect. The Pastor Founder Rev Prophet SBJ Oshoffa initially had no plans to establish a church, instead focusing on his family and business endeavors. His original goal was to become a successful carpenter, known for producing beautiful furniture made from ebony wood. However, it became clear that God had a different path in mind for him – one that involved spreading the message of evangelism to all souls.
Despite this unexpected turn of events, the Pastor Founder embraced his new calling with dedication and passion. He was fortunate to have a devoted followers of individuals who supported him wholeheartedly. Love and respect were the cornerstones of every parish within the church, with members showing reverence for authority figures and leaders making decisions with the well-being of their congregation in mind.
The elders within the church formed strong bonds with one another, demonstrating love and unity through their actions and words. It was not the white garments they wore that defined their connection, but rather their genuine care and understanding for one another. This sense of togetherness and camaraderie exemplified the true spirit of Celestial Church of Christ.
The image above captures a beautiful moment of love and togetherness among elders who share a passion for sports. These elders exemplify unity and reject any divisive attitudes that could lead to negative stereotypes. Instead, they support and uplift each other, sharing business ideas to strengthen their financial resources and build thriving communities both locally and internationally.
In the picture, we see Baba Banjo, Baba Ajao, Baba Orovboni, Baba sogbetu, Baba Lagun, Baba Majekodunmi, Late Baba Adefeso and others preparing to showcase their football talents. The image is a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork and collaboration, as it does not depict any signs of factionalism or division that are unfortunately prevalent in our Church today.
Regrettably, some of the individuals in this photograph have since lost touch with each other, and the original purpose of the Church has been overshadowed by personal agendas. It is disheartening to see elders publicly displaying animosity towards one another.
Currently, M/S/E Fastusi and V/S/E Olayeye in U.K, who were once friends, have now become adversaries. Additionally, V/S/E Joseph Olorunnisola and V/S/E Balogun in the USA have ceased public communication. In South Africa, V/S/E Ogunsola and V/S/E Balogun, who used to attend each other parish, have gone their separate ways. Similarly, V/S/E Ogunboye and V/S/E Adeoba, who used to attend meetings together in Canada, have chosen to avoid each other. Meanwhile, M/S/E Banjo, M/S/E Nunayon and others have distanced themselves from church activities.
It’s unfortunate that those who have caused discord among us still hold power over us.
