The 10th edition of the LULI Concert, held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, was not only a celebration of music, worship, joy and thanksgiving, but also a memorable occasion dedicated to honouring the legacies of individuals who contributed immensely to the growth and development of the concert and its vision.
At the event, the organisers paid special tribute to several distinguished individuals who have passed on, including Late Elder Pius Ige Olarewaju, Late Brother Mutajero Emmanuel Adebayo, Late AVSE Wole Aderitan, Late Prophetess Deborah Oshoffa, Late Akeju and other departed personalities whose contributions and support played significant roles in the journey of LULI Concert. They were honoured posthumously with awards and a collective financial recognition of ₦1 million in appreciation of their impact and enduring legacies.
Speaking during the event, the Convener of LULI Concert, Brother Gbenga Daniel, spoke warmly about the departed individuals and the indelible marks they left behind. He particularly reflected on the life and contribution of his late brother, Amuta Jero, while also acknowledging the place of Late Elder Pius Ige Olarewaju and others in the story of the concert.
Brother Gbenga Daniel described the recognition as more than an award, explaining that it represented gratitude, remembrance and a commitment to preserving the memories of those who had contributed to the journey of LULI Concert. According to him, the fact that these individuals are no longer physically present does not diminish the value of their contributions or the impact they made while they were alive.
He expressed deep appreciation to all those who supported the vision at different stages, noting that LULI Concert has benefited from the sacrifices, encouragement, commitment and goodwill of many people. He emphasised that the success of the concert is not the achievement of one individual but the result of the collective contributions of people who believed in the vision.
In his closing appreciation, Brother Gbenga Daniel thanked God for everyone who has contributed to the growth of LULI Concert over the years. He also expressed gratitude to the families, friends, supporters, artistes, ministers, guests and members of the organising team who have continued to stand behind the vision.
