The popular gospel musician has spoken up to clear the air following a recent statement made during one of his live performances that sparked discussion among members of the gospel community particularly within Celestial Church of Christ, where he commands a loyal and passionate fanbase.
During a live performance at a parish event, Ajidara addressed a growing concern that often plagues gospel musicians—the lack of recognition for their work, especially when it comes to remuneration. In his words, “The world must understand that gospel musicians operate in the industry to feed their families.” Ajidara passionately emphasized the need for people to understand that gospel musicians, just like professionals in any other field, operate within an industry that helps them cater to their families and responsibilities. His words were aimed at challenging the long-standing notion that gospel musicians should render their services for free, especially during church programs.
However, Ajidara has now made an important clarification: his remarks were not directed at Celestial Church of Christ or its members. Instead, he sought to make a broader point about the value of music as a career and the importance of appreciating God-given talents.
I want to be clear, Ajidara said, “I hold Celestial Church of Christ in the highest regard. This is a Church that has deeply shaped my journey and continues to play a pivotal role in my ministry. My message was never to disrespect or accuse the CCC, but to encourage a culture where gospel musicians are seen as laborers worthy of their hire.
Ajidara further reaffirmed his love for the CCC and its spiritual heritage, describing himself as a “well-trained gospel musician” who is committed to using his voice solely for the glory of God. He stated that he will never speak or act in a way that undermines the Church’s impact, history, or values.
I am a proud son of Celestial Church of Christ. I have nothing but deep love and respect for CCC,” Ajidara affirmed.
The gospel music community and indeed the CCC remains a critical part of Ajidara’s foundation. His message is clear: respect for the Church, recognition for talent, and unity in lifting the name of Jesus.
