In the sacred calling of God’s work, one of the hallmarks of a true and responsible servant of God is the unwavering commitment to divine instruction, the active promotion of God Kingdom, and absolute reverence for God’s grace. These traits are not just desirable, they are foundational. And in Superior Evangelist Ayodeji Shonekan, fondly known as “Uncle Ayo” we find a man who has lived these values with undaunted resilience, spiritual discipline, and generational impact.
Unarguably, Superior Evangelist Ayodeji Shonekan is a man who understands the weight and sacredness of the heavenly assignment placed in his hands. For over four decades, he has proven his mettle, not with fanfare or self-promotion—but through a consistent display of leadership, evangelistic fervour, and deep-rooted commitment to the ordinances of God. His life and service are a testament to quiet strength, fidelity to purpose, and humble stewardship. His journey in Celestial Church of Christ took root in the era of Late Rev. Pastor Alexander Abiodun Bada, under whose spiritual governance Uncle Ayo planted his feet firmly in ministry. Even in his youth, he contributed meaningfully to the growth of the Church, particularly in helping establish student fellowships and youth engagement platforms that nurtured the next generation of believers.

Yet what makes his story particularly compelling is how he transformed his background in journalism into a powerful tool for evangelism. With clarity of thought and sharp articulation, he became a voice of truth, interpreting the Word of God, defending the Church’s integrity, and documenting history in ways that edify and educate.
For 14 uninterrupted years, Uncle Ayo served with notable sacrifice under the leadership of Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa. During this period, he functioned in a sensitive role as a finance officer, helping to manage Church resources with a sense of duty, transparency, and fear of God. He maintained deep channels of communication not only with the current Pastor but also with the families of Rev. Pastor Bada and late Superior Evangelist Ajelekoko, earning their respect, trust, and blessings. In an era where Church administration is often clouded with allegations of financial misconduct, favouritism, and manipulation, Superior Evangelist Ayodeji Shonekan has remained untouched and untainted. He has never been associated with misappropriation of funds, certificate forgery, transfer racketeering, or any abuse of power. His name stands tall among men of principle, quietly honouring God in all things.
Superior Evangelist Ayodeji Shonekan has consistently upheld a clean and noble record, defined by respect, integrity, confidence, and honesty. He pioneered the establishment of media platforms within the Pastor’s Office, strategically showcasing the mission and vision of Rev. EMF Oshoffa to the global audience. His purpose has always been clear, to propagate the truth and authentic identity of Celestial Church of Christ. Always ready to serve, Superior Evangelist Shonekan has gone above and beyond to assist anyone in need, never seeking personal or material gain in return. His leadership is marked by selflessness, humility, and a deep commitment to the mission of the Church.
Yet, despite these noble efforts, an unguided, churlish, and thankless individual who lack discipline and grace has sought to tarnish the image of this respectable Shepherd. Known more for destroying than building, this half-baked opportunist, driven by material gain, has chosen to attack the purpose of God under the guise of ministry. Having failed in the true calling of soul-winning, he has instead turned social media into a tool for personal enrichment, spreading falsehoods without fear of consequence.
The more he strives to destroy the vision and mission of Superior Evangelist Ayodeji Shonekan, the more God continues to preserve, protect, and guide His faithful servant. For those who serve God in truth and spirit, no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Indeed, in times when the Church needs men of unwavering conviction and Christ-like character, Uncle Ayo remains a lighthouse—shining with grace, wisdom, and humility. He is a witness to what it means to serve without compromise, to lead without arrogance, and to persevere without resentment. Let it be known: God honors the pure in heart, and He will always vindicate His chosen vessels. Uncle Ayo’s labour is not in vain. His record is his testimony. And his legacy is a challenge to all of us, to serve with integrity, to lead with humility, and to remain undaunted in the face of distraction, discouragement, and dishonour.
