The global success of Celestial Church of Christ remains a resounding testimony to the divine mandate given to our Pastor Founder, Rev Samuel Biléhou Joseph Oshoffa. Through him, God established a spiritual framework built on faith, salvation, and heavenly purpose. For 13,990 days of his active leadership, the church experienced growth, transformation, and deepened spiritual awareness, a legacy that continues to flourish today.
Forty years after his transition to glory, Celestial Church of Christ set out to honour this extraordinary vessel of God through a landmark commemoration: The 40th Anniversary of the Pastor Founder’s Ascension. The success of this historic celebration owed much to the leadership of Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Muyiwa Ariyo, a man of integrity, creativity, and unwavering passion for the mission of the Church. Having received grace through his family heritage in the Church, he was graciously appointed by the Pastor and current Spiritual Head, Rev Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa, to oversee and manage all affairs connected to this anniversary.
The events rolled out in phases, moving from solemn reflection to glorious celebration. The programmes were hosted at symbolic centres of our Church life and administration:
A Remembrance Service in honour of the Pastor Founder at his residence in Ketu.
A special service at CCC National Headquarters, Makoko, Lagos State, the birthplace of our movement
A thanksgiving at CCC International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos State
And the grand finale at the CCC World Headquarters, Imeko, Ogun State, the Jerusalem of Celestials
Each service attracted massive attention, not just locally but worldwide, as members across nations joined in unified remembrance of the man through whom God birthed our spiritual identity.
Under the chairmanship of A/V/S/E Muyiwa Ariyo, the commemoration was an avenue for renewed vision, innovation, and modernization within the Church. His leadership brought fresh ideas, smooth coordination, and a clear commitment toward maintaining and advancing the Pastor Founder’s mission and spiritual legacy.
The gathering reaffirmed what the Pastor Founder stood for, a Church deeply rooted in Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit, expanding beyond human imagination. It was a powerful declaration that though Rev. SBJ Oshoffa has physically departed, his divine assignment lives on in every Celestial faithful across the world.
The 40th Anniversary was not just an event, it was a covenant reminder that the dream God placed in the heart of His servant continues to unfold, generation after generation, until the perfect day of Christ’s return.
