The body of Special Superior Evangelist (General) Opeleye (Rtd) who passed away on the 18th of November 2023 at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been laid to rest at the Military Cemetery in Abeokuta today, 9th of February 2024.
As a former Chairman of the Church Constitution Review Committee, he dedicated his efforts to the implementation of the Church’s revised constitution as advised by the Supreme Court Judgement between Late Rev AA Bada & Late Rev Owodunni in year 2000. Today, he received the final respects from Church members, Military Personnel, Government officials and family members.
Representing Pastor Rev EMF Oshoffa which includes MSE Ajao, MSE Olarinde, VSE Talon and VSE Kuti emphasized the significant impact of Special Superior Evangelist (General) Opeleye (Rtd), who worshipped at CCC Ibara Cathedral Abeokuta during his lifetime.
Members of his parish, led by AVSE Ogunremi, expressed their deep sadness at the sudden departure of the General, who was a pillar of strength for CCC Ibara Cathedral Abeokuta. He played a crucial role in the reconciliation process between the Pastor and the registered BOT.
The funeral service was attended by Elders of CCC Makoko National Headquarters in Lagos, Special Superior Evangelist Shoduke, AVSE Jonathan Adepegba, P. A to MSE Banjo, Representatives of CCC Omo Alade Alafia Parishes, Superior Evangelist Ayodeji Shonekan (a member of the burial committee), Prophetess Deborah Oshoffa, and many others.
We pray that God will grant Special Superior Evangelist (General) Opeleye (Rtd) eternal rest and provide his family with the strength to bear this loss.
