As the 2025 Imeko Convocation draws to a close, the leadership of the Imeko Convocation Committee under Special Superior Evangelist Adebayo Badekale has also formally come to an end, following the completion of his five-year tenure.
The Imeko Convocation Committee, which operates under the supervision of the International Management Committee is statutorily responsible for the planning, organisation, and coordination of the Church’s annual pilgrimage at Imeko. S/S/P Badekale assumed office at a particularly turbulent period in the history of the Church, coinciding with the onset of internal disputes that, till date, remain unresolved.
Despite the challenging atmosphere, his administration navigated difficult terrains, especially in the area of fund mobilisation, adopting various strategies to sustain the annual convocation. His tenure was also marked by widespread rumours concerning a possible relocation of the Imeko gathering to Porto-Novo, an issue his leadership addressed amid growing concerns within the fold. Under his watch, efforts were made to confront some of the longstanding infrastructural setbacks at the World Headquarters, including the poor road network, absence of a functional health clinic, and inadequate space to accommodate the ever-growing number of pilgrims.
In a video monitored by Celestial Prerogative News, S/S/P Badekale was seen delivering a heartfelt message of appreciation to members during a service at his home parish, Saint SBJ Oshoffa Cathedral, Dopemu, Lagos State, on 28th December 2025 expressing gratitude to God and stakeholders for their support throughout his tenure.
With the conclusion of his assignment, S/S/P Badekale now joins the league of past chairmen of the Imeko Convocation Committee, including Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Joseph Ogunremi and Evangelist Adebayo Gbenga Daniel, who previously served in the same capacity.
As members await the announcement of a new leadership, expectations remain high for continuity, renewed vision, and strengthened coordination for future convocations most especially in area of infrastructure
