The Celestial Prerogative Media team has been making efforts to reach the Diocesan Secretary for some time, but due to his busy schedules, it took some time to really pin him down for an interview about the convention. A/V/S/E Victor Adewusi, the Diocesan General Secretary of the USA Diocese and a staunch member of CCC Providence Parish in Rhode Island, USA provided a detailed description of the convention. He emphasized on significance of the convention, as convocation of Celestians united by their faith in Christ and their dedication to the growth and development of the Church. A/V/S/E Adewusi highlighted that the convention is not limited to Celestial Church members in the USA and North America, but welcomes participants, just like previous conventions, from all around the world.
He said the Biennial Convention will focus on sustaining the leadership of the USA Diocese and fostering a well-coordinated Diocese where fulfilling God’s mandate of winning souls for His Kingdom, remains the primary objective. Discussions will also revolve around the development of new initiatives, youth leadership development, spiritual guidance, corporate governance, community engagement, and general wellbeing of the Church

He acknowledged that the convention is a childbirth of the Head of the USA Diocese, V/S/E Joseph Olorunnisola with the coordination of National Convention Board. He says “ It is through the HOD guidance that we have been able to establish a constant congregation of people coming together to freely share, without any inhibition, their ideas, opinions, and initiatives for the betterment of the Church in the USA, North America and Worldwide”
As the General Secretary of the Diocese, A/V/S/E Adewusi confirms the readiness of the Secretariat Department to fulfill its administrative duties throughout the Convention period. He indicated that it is important to note that the USA Diocese is divided into 7 Regions, headed y a Regional Supervisor, ably aided by a Regional Secretary, and under each Region are States administrations, headed by a. State Evangelist and assisted by State Secretaries. The Regional Secretaries work directly with Diocesan General Secretary.
The Regional Secretaries collates their Annual Regional Report, which includes, innovative ideas by the Regions and Vital Statistics of all Parishes in their region and after that, they will submit it to the Diocese Secretariat and after it has been certified by the Diocesan General Secretary, he in turn submits it to the Diocesan Executive Council through the Head of Diocese office for approval. After these processes, the Reports will now be published in the program book for presentation to the Congress of the Diocese at the National Convention for consideration, ratification and implementation. These are part of the methodology, and the meticulous planning process that USA DIOCESE under the leadership of our HOD Baba Olorunnisola undertakes to run an effective and result-oriented Convention and Diocese governance.
Furthermore, A/V/S/E Adewusi emphasizes the importance for every member of the Church to attend the Convention regardless of any factionalization. Celestial Church is one under God.
