In a deliberate effort to strengthen the spiritual foundation of the younger generation, the leadership of Celestial Church of Christ Canaanland Parish, Dallas, USA, organized a Youth Retreat on 15th March 2026 at the parish premises.
The retreat, themed “ROOTED” (Colossians 2:7), was designed to inspire, guide, and spiritually empower the youth of the parish to remain firmly grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ while navigating the realities of modern life.
Speaking during the retreat, the Shepherd of the parish, VSE Olorunkunle, delivered a powerful charge to the young members, urging them to build their lives on the solid foundation of Christ. He emphasized that a life rooted in Christ would enable them to overcome societal pressures and remain steadfast in faith.
The Shepherd encouraged the youth to embrace the teachings of Christ, cultivate strong moral values, and maintain deep respect for their parents and elders, noting that these virtues remain essential pillars of a disciplined and successful Christian life.
He also warned against accepting negative stereotypes or limiting beliefs that society often places on young people, reminding them that their identity and destiny must be defined by God’s purpose rather than worldly expectations.
The retreat featured moments of prayer, spiritual exhortation, fellowship, and open discussions aimed at nurturing leadership, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of faith among the youth.
Members of the parish leadership expressed confidence that such initiatives will help raise a generation of spiritually grounded and responsible youths who will continue to uphold the values and traditions of the Celestial Church of Christ.
Indeed, the “ROOTED” Youth Retreat served as a timely reminder that when young people are firmly rooted in Christ, they become strong pillars for the future of the Church and society at large.
