As the 40th anniversary of the passing of Reverend Pastor Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa approaches, the Pastor office as released a comprehensive list of 50 members who will organise a beautiful and spirited filled remembrance activities of a man of valor, whom God used as a vessel. The Church stands at a sacred crossroads of remembrance and renewal, as it’s not only a time to reflect on the enduring legacy of our founder, but also a divine opportunity to embrace unity within the fold.
According to A/V/S/E Muyiwa Ariyo, Chairman of the 40th Anniversary Remembrance Committee, “This remembrance is more than just a commemoration—it is a call to unity. Papa’s legacy is a legacy of oneness, of love, and of divine mission. This 40th anniversary will bring everyone together under that shared vision.” He said the founder’s legacy is not only etched in the sacred halls of the church but also in the hearts of millions whose lives were touched by his spiritual leadership, teachings, and unwavering devotion to God. Forty years on, his vision remains alive—not just in memory, but in action.
He confirmed that the assignment given to the committee is an opportunity to work for the sustainability of the Church and promote the value of what the Church represents, he stated that it’s an reflection of though for him as he remembered the atmosphere which surrounded the breaking of the news of the Pastor Founder in 1985 when he was a child, while it’s a grace to oversee the Remembrance activities of Papa SBJ Oshoffa after 40 years.
He further intensified that Rev. Pastor SBJ Oshoffa, whom we fondly call “Papa” was more than a spiritual leader—he was a chosen vessel through whom God performed countless miracles in the name of Jesus Christ. Since founding the Celestial Church of Christ in 1947, Papa Oshoffa’s message of faith, healing, and hope has spread across continents, transforming lives and building a lasting spiritual heritage.
The anniversary activities are designed to reflect this spirit—bringing together members across the globe in worship, service, and fellowship. From solemn moments of prayer to joyous gatherings of praise, each event echoes the enduring impact of the Founder’s mission.
