Contrary to earlier reports circulated across various social media platforms on 16th February 2026 alleging that Rev. Victor Lawal had been appointed as Pastor of Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide under the Nigeria Diocese, fresh clarification has emerged.
In an interview conducted by Prophet Israel Oladipupo and obtained by Celestial Prerogative News, Rev. Victor Lawal firmly stated that he has not been declared Pastor of the Church. According to him, he was only asked to coordinate the affairs of the Nigeria Diocese to prevent a vacuum in leadership following the transition of Late Rev. Pastor Beni Omoge. He emphasized that his current responsibility is administrative and transitional in nature, pending a final resolution in line with established ecclesiastical processes.
“I have not been appointed Pastor,” he clarified. “I was asked by the elders to help manage and coordinate the affairs so that there will not be a leadership vacuum.”
To further dispel speculation, Rev. Lawal pointed out that he continues to wear his present clerical rank garment and has not assumed the official regalia of the Pastor, underscoring that no formal elevation has taken place.
During the interview, Rev. Lawal also paid tribute to the late Rev Pastor Beni Omoge, describing him as a visionary shepherd whose legacy must be preserved. He assured members that the vision and projects initiated under the leadership of Rev Pastor Beni Omoge would not be abandoned. Particularly, he referenced the 300 hectares of land reportedly purchased by the late Pastor, noting that the property, documented in the name of the Church would be utilized strictly for its original, intended purpose. He reiterated his commitment to continuity, unity, and order within the Diocese, urging members to remain calm and prayerful as the Church navigates this transitional phase.
