It was a radiant atmosphere of joy, happiness, and heartfelt emotions as members of Celestial Church of Christ across the globe converged at CCC Akoka (Glade Cathedral), Lagos State, to celebrate the 50th Adult Harvest Thanksgiving Service of this historic parish. The entire church community united in a spirit of gratitude, dancing, worship, and jubilation at this golden milestone.
From the very beginning of the service, the aura of celebration was undeniable. The Glade Cathedral Choir elevated the day with melodious and soul-lifting harmonies, rendering hymns that stirred the congregation into praise-filled dancing and worship. The unity in rhythm and song created unforgettable moments of spiritual togetherness.
Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Venerable Superior Evangelist Otele, Shepherd of CCC Providence Parish, Rhode Island, USA, and VSE Adewusi, Secretary of the CCC USA Diocese, alongside other members who travelled from the diaspora to rejoice with the parish. Their presence added grace and honour to the harvest celebration, reinforcing the bond of love that connects Celestials worldwide.
The Parish Shepherd, VSE Prophet Segun Ademusire, was visibly overjoyed as he danced with passion and excitement. Expressing his gratitude, he described the 50th Adult Harvest as a turning point for the parish — a divine season where unity, love, and spiritual renewal are rekindled among all worshippers of the Akoka Cathedral.
According to VSE Adewusi, the milestone is not only a celebration of longevity but a testament to God’s continuous favour upon the parish from its establishment to this remarkable Jubilee year. He commended the dedication of the Harvest Committee, the tireless contributions of past and present leaders, and the unwavering commitment of members whose sacrifices have sustained the growth of the church.
The harvest did not only reflect the glory of God through music, dance, and testimonies; it also showcased the beauty of fellowship as dignitaries, elders, youths, and children joined together to honour God for His goodness over the last five decades.
From humble beginnings to an enduring spiritual powerhouse in Lagos State, CCC Akoka Cathedral has remained a beacon of light, evangelism, and community service — and this Golden Harvest marks a new dawn of grace, expansion, and greater exploits for the Kingdom of God.
As the celebrations came to a crescendo with joyful thanksgiving offerings, the message was clear:
God has been faithful, and the best days of CCC Akoka Cathedral are yet to come!
