The Federal High Court in Ikoyi has set a date for the ruling on the ongoing case between the registered Board of Trustees and the Pastor. The hearing, which took place on 12th February 2025 focused on the controversial dissolution of a registered board that is recognized by Nigerian law. The court has scheduled the ruling on all pending application for 7th May 2025.
The courtroom was buzzing with anticipation on 12th February 2025, as the hearing continued. The lead counsel to the Pastor was noticeably absent, but the Judge swift in moving the proceedings forward. The legal representatives presented their arguments passionately, with the lead counsel for the registered BOT emphasizing the urgency of a ruling.
Justice Musa Kakaki, who assumed responsibility for the case following the transfer of Justice Peter O. Lifu to the Abuja Division demonstrated a steadfast commitment to upholding justice and equality. The Justice decisively rejected a delay tactic by striking out a proposed reconciliation reintroduced by one of the Pastor’s lawyers. He emphasized that the thorough documentation of all available evidence by his predecessor has facilitated his understanding of the case, and he is scheduled to deliver his judgment on 7th May 2025. The Judge stated that all attempts at reconciliation have proven unsuccessful, as indicated in the documents before him.
As it’s know to the general congregation of the Church that the current PIC Secretaries, who issued a reminder of the court case on 11th February 2025 have consistently failed to inform the Church congregation of the outcomes of the Reconciliation Committee led by Justice Ajakaiye (Rtd) at the Pastor’s behest. The Committee met with MSE Banjo on 21st August 2020 with the assurance of further discussions with the Pastor. Regrettably, the PIC has not provided comprehensive details of the meeting, nor have they disclosed the resolutions of a subsequent meeting held on 8th May 2022 at CCC Ogudu Parish, Lagos, involving all aggrieved parties.
Despite the WhatsApp messages circulating on social media by the PIC, none of the unregistered BOT members attended the court proceedings. Only 3 members of the PIC were present in court. It has become clear that certain individuals involved in the church dispute, who stand to gain financially are influencing the Pastor to continue the fight in order to maintain their material gains. Despite efforts to conceal the truth, the real story is finally coming to light.
