Since the inception of the Church in 1947, strict adherence to God’s directives has been the foundation. Pastor Founder Rev SBJ Oshoffa always emphasized that the Church did not belong to him or his family, but to the body of Christ without any limitations. However, following his passing, the Church was left vulnerable, leading to factions forming.
The aftermath of Pastor Founder death resulted in a power struggle between the Nigeria Diocese and Benin Republic Diocese, with the National Supreme Headquarters under the Pastorship of Late Rev Agbaossi and Nigeria Diocese supporting Late Rev AA Bada. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the dispute, including a meeting convened by the former president of Benin Republic, Late Mathieu Kérékou in 1997, a resolution remains elusive.
1997 meeting between Late Rev AA Bada, Late Rev Agbaossi and Late Former President Kérékou in Benin Republic
On 20th February 2025, news broke online that Rev. EMF Oshoffa and Rev. Adeogun met at the Presidential Villa of Benin Republic to discuss the rebuilding of church unity. The meeting was attended by Rev. Oshoffa, his wife, VSE Jacob Oshoffa, VSE Tosho Oshoffa, Prophetess Edith Oshoffa, and AVSE Barthelemow. While Rev. Adeogun was accompanied by his kitchen cabinet. The meeting was quite different from the 1997 meeting, where Late AA Bada and his lieutenants, including registered BOT members, some PIC members, and few senior clergies followed him to Benin Republic to discuss and document plans for the unification of the church under one major umbrella.
Since the news of the meeting broke out on Thursday, 20th February 2025, it has been surrounded by controversy. Some of the alleged agreements from the meeting have sparked debates, as they seem to contradict the strict instructions given to the Church in Nigeria by the Pastor Founder, Rev. SBJ Oshoffa. Controversial statements include: 1) Holding the Good Friday gathering at Imeko from Rev. EMF Oshoffa & Rev. Adeogun faction instead of the traditional gathering at CCC National Headquarters Makoko. 2) Moving the Annual Imeko Convocation to Benin Republic, contrary to the Pastor Founder’s instruction for the Church to meet at Imeko. 3) The two factions meeting at Imeko for the Annual Burial Service of the Pastor Founder.
Also, there was an allegations of heated debate during the meeting regarding the leadership of the Ivory Coast Diocese between Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Ackah Kouame Justin and Venerable Superior Evangelist Sara Sorro. Both individuals were accused of providing large sums of money to both Pastor’s in the past, with AMSE Ackah Kouame Justin even threatening to declare himself as the Pastor in Ivory Coast and other French-speaking countries. AMSE Ackah Kouame Justin is involved in soil mining and serves as the Patron of CCC Ark of Salvation in Abeokuta, a parish established by Rev EMF Oshoffa, as well as CCC Beulah Parish in Ajah, Lagos State, founded by Prophetess Edith Oshoffa.
In response to these allegations, the faction led by Rev EMF Oshoffa acknowledged that a meeting took place to discuss potential changes within the church. However, they emphasized that all existing services and programs within the Ketu faction remain unchanged. The press statement issued by Rev EMF Oshoffa’s faction did not specifically address the actions of AMSE Ackah Kouame Justin of sharing of money nor his intention to declare himself as Pastor.
Furthermore, the Supreme Headquarters in Ajase, under the leadership of Rev Adeogun has not released any press statements to clarify the position of Rev EMF Oshoffa. The situation remains unresolved as both factions continue to navigate the complexities of leadership within the church. While the implications of these alleged agreements are significant and have raised concerns among members of the church. The controversy surrounding the meeting highlights the challenges and complexities involved in uniting different factions within the church.

Let the spirit of our Father SBJ take control and sanitize our church.
