The lack of genuine and sincere leadership in the United Kingdom of the Church is causing a setback for the Church unity. As the oldest Diocese in the western world, the Diocese is experiencing a lack of commitment to the true essence of what Celestial Church of Christ represents. Instead of focusing on evangelism, unity, and promoting the Church’s tenets and doctrine, the UK Diocese is prioritizing material gains, rank approvals, and personal connections to the Pastor’s office to maintain their positions.
After numerous disagreements on principles and a lack of leadership skills in fostering the growth of the UK Diocese, including the abuse of worshippers’ fundamental rights at CCC Harton Street National Headquarters in London, with an attempt to forcibly remove their shepherd and disruption of Sunday Glorious Service on the 3rd March 2024, the Parish decided to part ways with the leadership of MSE Fatusin. They distanced themselves from his leadership to uphold decorum in their Parish. The Parish had sent multiple letters to the Pastor, informing him of the attack on the Parish by the HOD. During the Pastor’s visit to the Parish in September 2023, the then Parochial Committee Chairman was prevented from addressing the Pastor as the Diocese executives turned the atmosphere into a noisy gathering.
Since then, the Parish has chosen to maintain its independence, operating as a separate entity without any influence from MSE Fatusin. They have declared their allegiance to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Diocese. Following the lead of CCC National Headquarters Makoko, Lagos, the Parish has decided not to remit their monthly returns to the Church authority. They were dissatisfied with the Pastor’s response in addressing the ongoing issues within the Diocese leadership and their Parish.
During the Annual General Meeting on 19th January 2025, the Parish outlined their administrative actions, including withholding a sum of 5,000 British Pounds sterling, equivalent to over 10 million Naira, which has not been sent to the Church authority. Due to the rejection of MSE Fatusin in the United Kingdom, the Church has lost over 25 million Naira as several parishes have stopped sending their monthly returns. Many of these parishes have formed separate alliances with MSE Fatusin, further deepening the divide.
Despite the Church authority failing to invest the monthly returns received from around the world into church development and infrastructure, numerous parishes have ceased sending their contributions. This lack of concern for complaints and observations has led to the closure of relationships with the constituted authority. The Parish is excited to take a stand and make their voices heard in the face of these challenges.
