The leadership crisis surrounding the 2026 Anointment Exercise has taken a new turn as the Spiritual Head of the Church, Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa has issued a public apology to members affected by the challenges recorded during the exercise.
According to an official statement obtained by Celestial Prerogative News through the office of the Church Spokesman, the Pastor acknowledged the shortcomings that occurred between 23rd and 25th March 2026 at the Church’s World Headquarters in Imeko. Members reportedly experienced overcrowding, prolonged delays, and moments of disorder, with some expressing concerns over safety due to near-stampede conditions.
In his response, the Pastor expressed deep regret over the situation and assured members of immediate and long-term corrective measures. He confirmed that affected members would be given the opportunity to complete their anointment processes in line with approved ranks, ensuring that no one is left out due to the disruptions.
Rev. Oshoffa also addressed circulating rumours questioning his fitness to lead, firmly debunking such claims and reaffirming his commitment to the spiritual and administrative responsibilities of his office. Furthermore, he cautioned against the spread of misinformation and reiterated that clergy members who have not undergone proper anointment should refrain from wearing unapproved ranks, in accordance with church doctrine.
While the apology has been received as a necessary step, observers and members alike are calling for more than words. There is a growing consensus on the need for structural reforms particularly the decentralisation of the anointment process to prevent a recurrence of such incidents. Many believe that distributing the exercise across regions, states, or dioceses would enhance safety, improve coordination, and promote transparency and accountability.
As the Church moves forward, expectations remain high that this moment will mark a turning point one that strengthens administrative efficiency while preserving the sacred integrity of the Anointment Exercise.
