The ongoing re-development of the Makoko National Headquarters of our Church is more than a construction effort, it is a spiritual assignment that calls for the unity, sacrifice, and commitment of every Celestial member worldwide.
Speaking passionately on the significance of the project, the Chairman of the National Headquarters Elders Council, AVSE Babatunde Demuren described the CCC Makoko National Headquarters initiative as a collective responsibility rooted in history, faith, and divine purpose.
According to him, the foundation of the Church at Makoko is not ordinary; it is deeply tied to the divine calling and mission of the Pastor-Founder, Rev Pastor Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa whose arrival in Nigeria marked a transformative era in the spread of Christianity.
He emphasized that Makoko being the National Headquarters, represents the spiritual identity and unity of the Church globally. “What Makoko stands for, cannot be handled by a few,” he noted. “It is the responsibility of all who believe in the vision and mission of the Celestial Church of Christ.”
AVSE Demuren further highlighted that the current re-building project aims to re-position Makoko as a world-class worship centre, one that reflects the dignity, structure, and spiritual excellence of the Church.
With modern facilities and improved infrastructure, the project is designed to serve both present and future generations of worshippers.
He also reassured members that the project has received full approval from the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), confirming that all necessary regulatory requirements have been met.
This, he said, demonstrates the Church’s commitment to excellence and compliance in executing the project.
Calling on all Celestial members both in Nigeria and in the diaspora, AVSE Demuren urged everyone to rise in support of the project through generous donations, prayers, and active involvement. “This is our heritage, our altar, our identity. If we do not build it, who will?” he asked.
He concluded by stressing that the Makoko project is not just about erecting structures, but about preserving a legacy, strengthening the foundation of faith, and ensuring that the vision handed down by the founding fathers continues to thrive.
