The peaceful coexistence recently restored in CCC Metropolitan Parish, Arch Diocese Washington DC, USA is on the verge of being terminated due to the unwelcome decision to remove Most Superior Evangelist Olarinde from his shepherdship service in the Parish.
The restoration of peace brought about by MSE Olarinde was a testament to his tireless efforts in reconciling the parishioners and fostering a harmonious worship environment. The positive results were evident during the Parish’s 48th Annual Adult Harvest, aptly named “Ebenezer.” As a result of MSE Olarinde’s preaching, many members of the Parish have chosen to withdraw their legal disputes against one another.
On September 17, 2023, a letter signed by majority of the Parish members was sent to the Pastor, urging him to reconsider the decision to remove MSE Olarinde from their Parish. The letter emphasized the significant impact MSE Olarinde has had in fostering unity among them. The Parish humbly requested a 24-month period from the Pastor, allowing MSE Olarinde to continue his work of restoring the Parish to its original standards.
This will not be the first instance in the history of the Church where a Parish requests that their Shepherd not be transferred. In 1984, during the tenure of the Pastor Founder (Pastor SBJ Oshoffa) the elders of CCC Oke Ado Cathedral in Ibadan requested that Baba Nunayon be allowed to complete the construction of the Parish School before Pa SBJ Oshoffa transfer him. The Pastor Founder joyfully granted the request, stating that “if members demand the continuous presence of a shepherd, it indicates a strong bond between the Shepherd and the members.”
However, it has been confirmed that the Pastor has called MSE Olarinde to return to Nigeria before September 29, 2023 contrary to the principle of unity requested by the members of CCC Metropolitan Parish, Washington DC, USA. The Parish has openly informed MSE Olarinde that they will not provide his flight ticket to Nigeria and will no longer accept any pastoral instructions from the Pastor.
It has also been gathered that the factional leader of the UK Diocese, MSE Fastuin was behind the unacceptable transfer of MSE Olarinde from USA. It will informed that MSE Fastuin has convinced the Pastor to transfer him to CCC Metropolitan Parish, Washington DC, USA. The Pastor has consented to MSE Fastuin’s demand after a meeting in London. One of MSE Fastuin’s requests to the Pastor is to appoint him as the Head of the USA Diocese, suggesting the merger of VSE Olorunnisola and VSE Balogun.
CCC Metropolitan Parish, USA is at a critical juncture. The hard-won peace and harmony painstakingly restored by the efforts of Most Superior Evangelist Olarinde, now hang in the balance.
