When anointing clergies to senior ranks, it is crucial to carefully examine their conduct and ensure they are fit to shoulder the responsibilities of abiding by and interpreting the scriptures in line with the Church’s doctrinal practices.
Recently, at CCC Ibara Cathedral in Abekouta, Ogun State, the Shepherd who was anointed as Assistant Most Superior Evangelist on 26th December 2024 has been accused of misrepresenting the scriptures and Church ordinances. This came to light when a woman attended a Parish service on the 4th January 2025, dressed indecently with her child, adorned with numerous copper rings.
The female ushers, following Parish rules against inappropriate dressing, asked the woman to remove the rings. The woman left, but later complained to the Shepherd, who then humiliated the ushers in front of the alleged woman and ordered her to join the service.
During a live stream monitored by Celestial Prerogative News, the shepherd addressed the congregation during the announcement period and publicly justified his claim using an example from Pastor Founder Rev SBJ Oshoffa at CCC Makoko and CCC Army Barracks Road, Mokola. He stated that the Pastor Founder told those with shoes could enter the Church as the premises would be sanctified after the service. The shepherd also pointed out that many women would put on their garments without observing the process of sanctification, with people only focusing on those wearing multiple earrings. The female youth in attendance responded positively, clapping in agreement with the shepherd’s words.
However, at the Usher Night Vigil on 6th January 2025, ushers in the parish expressed their displeasure with the shepherd’s position. They believed he was giving female members a blank check to dress without caution, going against the discipline the parish had maintained before his arrival. Many ushers even decided to excuse themselves from the department, deeming it immoral and an abuse of the Church’s basic ordinances to allow indecent appearances before God.
Now, all eyes are on the Parochial Committee and Elders Council of the Parish to see what steps they will take next. Despite unsuccessful attempts to reach the shepherd before this report was filed, Celestial worldwide eagerly awaits the outcome of this situation.
