During my day’s at the university, I became involved in a left-wing movement where I delved deep into the theories of Marxism-Leninism. Advocating for a better quality education environment, as an activist; it opened my eyes to the ways in which individuals can betray common interests for personal gain, ultimately undermining our efforts and exposing our intentions to the University Management. This realization led me to understand how the power of oppressors can manipulate the minds of those striving for a better society. It was my first encounter with betrayal, as some of our comrades were unaware of our plans.
As a member of Celestial Church, I resonate with Hymn 384, stanza 2: “Enia ko ni agbara, L ‘ori ijo mimo yi, Oba Orun lo fi ranse.” I have observed the challenges within our administrative structure that have raised concerns among members who hold a genuine love for the Church. This uncontrollable situation compelled me to voice my opinions publicly. It is evident that, as Christians who adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ, we must acknowledge that our administration system is not being properly managed.
In the course of our efforts to bring attention to the issues facing the Church, I have had the privilege of engaging with members who are closely connected to church authority. They have shared their concerns with me regarding the challenges that the church is currently facing. Unfortunately, many of these individuals feel unable to publicly voice their discontent out of fear of reprisal. It is evident that every Diocese within the Church is under attack, and yet instead of addressing these issues head-on, we seem to be more focused on attacking those who bring these concerns to light.
My vision for the Church is one where the original intentions of the Pastor Founder are realised. I do not seek to undermine anyone or align myself with any particular faction. I have seen firsthand the power of a united and disciplined church where the rights of the shepherds are respected and the opinions of the members are valued during the era of the Pastor Founder & Late Rev Bada (of blessed memories), It is disheartening to presently witnessing a system where injustice, inequity, threats, and insults are allowed to thrive within the Church that we hold dear.
I do not consider myself merely a blogger. My commitment to the Church goes beyond writing about it; it is a matter of conscience. I see myself as a reporter, dedicated to upholding the doctrinal practices of the Church, spreading the message of Jesus Christ, and honouring the legacy of the Pastor Founder, Rev. Prophet SBJ Oshoffa, and his closest lieutenants.
Recently, I experienced yet another betrayal from an individual whom I believed was dedicated to transforming the Church into a more positive and beautiful place. Regrettably, I played a role in allowing this situation to unfold, as I had genuine intentions towards him without realising his ulterior motives. It has become evident that his primary focus is on personal gain rather than the well-being of others, as he has a history of betraying those around him.
Despite being cautioned to distance myself from him for the past two years, I held onto hope that he would change for the better. However, he has chosen to persist in his pursuit of material wealth at the expense of others. I commend and am grateful to those who have supported me during this challenging time. It was not until 24th March and 25th March 2025 that I truly understood the extent to which members of the Church appreciate my dedication and sacrifices.
I have received and am still receiving calls from senior and junior clergy, as well as long-standing and new members of the Church, expressing their solidarity and sharing their thoughts with me. Even members of the Church residing abroad have reached out to check on my well-being. Despite the betrayal from a former friend, I take solace in the fact that the divine power I believe in will ultimately bring justice to those who have wronged me.
I understand that some individuals are disappointed by his behaviour, but every action has consequences. He has been labelled as a betrayer, akin to Judas Iscariot. It is likely that he will continue to engage in negative activities, which ultimately will lead to failure as ordained by a higher power. While many may have seen us as friends due to our attendance at various events together, I must acknowledge that I did not realise his true character and the betrayal of my trust.
For the record, I want to make it clear that I do not condone or share his beliefs in ingratitude, deceit, betrayal, and manipulation. There is a stark contrast between truth and deception, and I choose to align myself with honesty and integrity.
Thanks
Yours in Christ
