The first set of administrators in Celestial Church of Christ who worked closely with the Pastor Founder established a solid framework for managing the Church’s structure. The drafting and approval of the Church Constitution outlined the duties and functions of the Pastor in Council, from section 156 to section 163 of the Church Constitution.
Following the passing of the Pastor Founder, Rev SBJ Oshoffa, Rev AA Bada, and Rev Ajose, the Church has continue upheld the instructions of the Pastor Founder in maintaining the laws that govern the existence of the Church. The selection of the current PIC members was met with some controversy between the registered Board of Trustees and the Pastor, with the Board opposing the selection process. Despite this dispute, the Pastor proceeded to inaugurate the Council on the 27th of February 2021 at Km 53 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with the event being broadcasted live on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/live/4_p78Ei7_Qo?si=5Uce3eCT_pSNkWgN.

It was on record how the Pastor in Council played a pivotal role in the dissolution of the registered BOT. The Council wrongfully advised the Pastor to announce the dissolution of the Board in a meeting on 1st May 2021, instead of focusing on reconciliation efforts with the 12-member committee formed on 27th March 2021. This decision had a significant impact on the performance of the PIC, hindering their ability to operate effectively.
One of the major obstacles faced by the PIC was the court’s order that the Pastor should not add any new members to the Council until the legal case was resolved. Despite this setback, the Church authority continues to add members to the Council without following due process, while the Pastor in Council persevered and managed to complete some essential projects. Members generously contributed funds, with some even exceeding the required amount of the #250,000 per member. These funds were used to continue the building of the Conference Center in Imeko, initiated by late Rev AA Bada, and also installed a transformer to provide electricity from the National Grid to Imeko City.
During a meeting at CCC International Headquarters in Ketu on 1st February 2025, the Church authority expressed concerns over low member participation, lack of financial commitment, and absenteeism. Despite these challenges, The tenure of the current PIC will expire on the 27th February 2025 after the completion of 4 years in office, while there has been rumour circulating that the Pastor is considering the possibility of extending the tenure of the Council, as there is a fear that dissolution of the Council may result in a contentious court case. The question some celestial members are asking are-
1) Will the Pastor dissolve the Council of Pastors?
2) Will the Pastor extend their tenure?
3) Will the Pastor comply with the court case to maintain the Status Quo pending the determination of the case?
