It is with a heavy heart that Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Mother Celestial Monisade Afuye, announces the passing of her dear mother, Olori Esther Adegboye. The Patroness of Celestial Church of Christ Covenant Cathedral Parish 2 in Ikere, Ekiti State shared the sad news that her mother, a native of Ikere Ekiti, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 97.
In a heartfelt statement personally penned by the deputy governor, she expressed, “With immense gratitude and reverence to Almighty God, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved matriarch, Olori Iyalaje Adegboye of Akayejo Ruling House of Ikere Kingdom.
“She leaves behind a legacy cherished by extended family members, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Details regarding her burial will be shared at a later time.”
The deputy governor lovingly described her late mother as a compassionate and influential community leader, whose absence will be deeply felt. She added, “The Ikere Ekiti Community and Akayejo Royal Dynasty will forever hold Mrs. Adegboye in their hearts for her invaluable contributions to community development and unwavering dedication to fostering unity for the town’s progress.”
In her prayers, she asked God to grant her late mother eternal peace and to provide strength and comfort to the family she leaves behind.
