I saw a recent post and video about a shepherd who took someone to do a spiritual directive at a stream, and the person got taken away by the river and lost their life. Hmmm, it is something alarming and needs to be looked into critically.
1. Stream bath is first a biblical injunction. We have read where Naaman was told to bathe at the River Jordan for Healing and Also the Man at the pool of Bethesda sat at the pool awaiting some healing(which was orchestrated by God)
Hence, Stream bath is not against the bible.
2. Don’t let anyone deceive you, Stream bath is a Celestial thing, though with the current situation of things, it calls for safety measures, precautions and alternatives. Don’t let anyone tell you we don’t stream bath in Celestial, we actually DO, except they want to be hypocritical about it.
3. For every stream bath directive, the type of stream, the depth and the safety should be considered and affirmed by the approving shepherd. If possible, PPE’s and Lifeguarding equipment should be made available.
And at least 2 people should go and lead to the place. I personally have lead a work for someone to go and bathe at a flowing stream, at Newcastle Hotel axis, Anthony, and the stream was shallow and flowing, and everyone went home safe and I eventually did bathe myself.
I am a celestian after all, why the pretence like some do.
4. Yes they will tell you, if you have given your life to Jesus, you don’t need stream bath, candles and all that. Hmmm. Obedience is very key in this Celestial fold, and at times you mustn’t do as if you are wiser than God. He gave this things to the church..if you don’t like them, that’s personal, but it is what he gave to the church as well.
5. Sometimes alternatives work, I know a parish where stream is far from them and they rather get stream water in kegs and mix with mercy land water in faith and use to go do the directive and it works for them.
Faith is very key. There are scenarios where Papa Oshoffa broke 1 candle into 3 for someone that couldn’t afford to buy 3 and the person’s prayer still got answered.
6. Bathing in stream requires wisdom. Think of your safety first and go to a stream of trustable depth. That we have given our faith to Jesus doesn’t make us to be disobedient to the script of the holy spirit.
We shouldn’t be losing life to stream bathe if only we begin to employ safety measures. At least we do baptism in streams and water bodies and no one loses their life
Let’s take necessary step and we would all be fine. I don’t think it should be scrapped because it is an injunction of the holy spirit for certain reasons.
The loss of life is very disheartening and name soiling but I believe if we take necessary steps and adherence to safety, such would not happen.
Hallelujah,
