It was a devastating day as the Church mourned the loss of three shepherds on the first day of the new year 2025. Amidst the joy and excitement of a fresh start, three families were faced with the heart-breaking news of their loved ones passing away. A/V/S/E Johnson Olajuwon from CCC International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos, Evangelist Olumuyiwa Michael Idowu Shepherd of CCC Christ Testimony Parish, Ikorodu and Evangelist Oladoutn Elusanmi were suddenly taken from us on 1st January 2025.
The tragic event has sparked controversy within the church with some members expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of healthcare support provided to the shepherds by the Church. In an effort to address any misconceptions and shed light on the situation, Celestial Prerogative News reached out to the Welfare Committee of the Church. Senior Evangelist, Abolurin the Public Relations Officer provided a detailed insight into the circumstances surrounding the loss of our dear shepherds.
The former Chartered Accountant highlighted the incredible efforts of Pastor Rev EMF Oshoffa and the Welfare Committee in establishing a comprehensive healthcare structure for all Clergies, Church Workers, and the congregation. He said the initiative provides unlimited access to high-quality and affordable healthcare services in all registered hospitals across the nation. The CCC Clergies Group Life Insurance Scheme, which began three years ago, offers a benefit of #1.7M to beneficiaries of deceased Clergies, including burial expenses allowance.
S/E Abolurin explained that unfortunately, nearly 200 Clergies have passed away without enrolling in the scheme, resulting in the loss of millions of Naira in benefits for the Church. Despite efforts to mobilize Clergies nationwide, there has been reluctance due to past negative experiences. However, there is renewed confidence in the CCC Clergies Welfare Schemes, led by individuals of integrity such as Snr Evang. S. Sofowora (Sharon Parish) & others.
Senior Evangelist Abolurin emphasized that none of the departed Clergies were enrolled in the scheme, underscoring the importance of participation. The Welfare Committee has already assisted numerous indigent Clergies and recently distributed Christmas gifts in Imeko, including rice and cash gifts.
He said phone to contact for registration into the CCC Clergies Health Scheme are – 0807 502 1972, 0816 893 7674.
It is crucial to raise awareness among Clergies about the Pastor’s welfare programs. The Health Insurance Scheme has been launched, with the Pastor offering a #1,000,000 subsidy to the first 500 Clergies who enroll. This is a fantastic opportunity for Clergies to secure their well-being. Your support in spreading the word is greatly appreciated.
