During a 21-minute video presentation, Prophet Soyemi highlighted the brokenness within the Church administration. He shared a revelation he had received three months prior, in which he saw Pastor Founder Rev SBJ Oshoffa standing alongside current Pastor Rev EMF Oshoffa and himself. In this vision, Pastor Founder Rev SBJ Oshoffa expressed his dissatisfaction with the unrest within the Church.
Prophet Soyemi urged the registered Board of Trustees to also prioritize peace in order to guide the Church back to its intended path. He emphasized that it is essential for all members to come together in unity, as God will not descend from heaven to resolve our differences.
Prophet Soyemi clarified that while some individuals may claim he was the one who initiated series of complaints, but his perspective differs significantly from the current state of affairs within the Church. He openly acknowledged having private discussions with the Pastor on multiple occasions, but noted that certain individuals are hindering the Pastor from engaging in peace talks due to their own selfish motives. He said in December 2023, he met with the Pastor to discuss the matter and was given permission to speak with Baba Banjo. After conveying the Pastor’s message to Baba Banjo, which was well-received, Prophet Soyemi was disappointed to find that the Pastor did not pursue further discussions on reconciliation. This was attributed to the interference of individuals who frequently visited the Pastor’s home at early hours and late at night who did not support reconciliation with the registered Board of Trustees.
Citing 1 Corinthians 6:5-8 and James 2:24, Prophet Soyemi pointed out the discrepancy between the Elders’ teachings and actions, emphasizing the importance of the Pastor practicing genuine love and peace. He warned that it would be disgraceful if the Pastor were summoned to court and had to appear in his pastoral attire. Ultimately, Prophet Soyemi stressed that the Pastor would be held accountable for his leadership of the Church on the day of judgment, as God would not question him about his pastoral duties.
The Prophet emphasized the importance of fulfilling their duties as members of the MPIC. He stated that the responsibilities of the MPIC extend beyond monetary contributions. While the court has the authority to determine the legitimacy of the Council, he urged the members to prioritize peace over personal gain and status. He highlighted the detrimental impact of individuals profiting from discord and preventing resolution among aggrieved parties.
The Prophet said he distanced himself from the church administration due to discrepancies with divine teachings. He called upon all Celestial members to unite in reshaping the Church’s future by engaging in dialogue with the registered BOT. He cited the ongoing avoidance between the Pastor and Baba Nunayon at CCC Makoko National Headquarters as an example of the need for reconciliation within the Church.
As a member of the newly constituted BOT, he acknowledged the dissolved BOT’s possession of the government registration certificate. However, he stressed the importance of the new BOT supporting the Pastor through genuine peace talks for the advancement of Celestial Church of Christ.
