A video clip on the official Parish page of CCC Rehoboth Family International Cathedral, Oke Ado, Ibadan captured the third senior clergy in the Church, M/S/E Nunayon discussing his close relationship with the Church’s Founder, Rev Prophet SBJ Oshoffa. He recounted how Pastor Oshoffa recognized his potential from a young age and guided him on his spiritual journey.
Reflecting on his past, M/S/E Nunayon recalled a time when he couldn’t afford a sewing machine after completing his tailoring training. He faced hardships until God lifted him out of poverty. How could he ever be ungrateful to the one who rescued him from shame?
M/S/E Nunayon explained that “One Sunday morning, while fervently praying in his room in Mokola, Papa Oshoffa summoned him through a lady named Yemisi. Feeling singled out, he hesitated, wondering why he was always chosen for errands. But when he approached Papa, the Pastor Founder asked him that why he is complaining, he quickly denied any complaints. Papa knew of his though questioned his reluctance”.
M/S/E Nunayon further says “Papa then asked me if I was the only young person in the Church and if I knew why he kept sending me on errands. I was shocked by my behavior and quickly apologized. He then sent me to Mokola market. I ran to the market and completed the errands. When I returned, I went to Papa to deliver the message. He looked at me without showing any concern.
Then, on either Tuesday or Wednesday, I purchased a sewing machine with the help of two people who lent me money. Both of these individuals are still alive, with Oluwo still at CCC Aba Aladie, Apata, Ibadan. I entrusted the sewing machine to a Hausa man to carry it while I directed him to Papa Oshoffa’s location. Upon arriving at Papa’s place, the Hausa man dropped the machine. Papa Oshoffa inquired about the owner, and I proudly claimed ownership. He then instructed me to kneel down with the sewing machine. On that memorable day, Papa Oshoffa spit saliva on my head”.
The Shepherd of CCC Oke Ado Cathedral, Ibadan emphasizing that people cam take everything from him, but nobody can never take the saliva from his head. He said “ Papa spit the saliva on my head three times, asking me to rub the saliva on my head and respond with a resounding “Yes, sir.” It was at that moment, with the sewing machine as the focal point, that my journey to where I am now truly began.
The sewing machine remains in its place, a symbol of my connection to Papa Oshoffa and the spiritual guidance I have received. Whenever I visit, I am drawn to the machine, feeling the spirit’s presence and being reminded that any misstep could lead me back to where it all began. Say JAH!
In the presence of God, I am reminded of the significance of my journey and the lessons learned along the way. Papa’s words echo in my mind, urging me to stay focused and grounded.
