It was a momentous occasion as the entire congregation of CCC Omo Alade Alafia Parish 1 Lagos gathered to pray and commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary. The service was infused with a palpable sense of reverence, as the Holy Spirit took center stage, enveloping the atmosphere in a divine presence.
This Parish stands as a beacon in the history of Celestial Church of Christ, being the first to organize a comprehensive service to celebrate the proclamation of our country’s independence. During this solemn occasion, the parishioners fervently prayed for the unity of our great nation, drawing inspiration from the Israelites who prayed for the prosperity of Israel.
It is an undeniable truth that Nigeria is in dire need of Christ’s restoration in order to fulfill God’s plan. The challenges that confront our nation are overwhelming, ranging from inadequate infrastructure, soaring inflation rates, rampant insecurity, dilapidated social amenities to erratic power supply.
In his sermon, the Shepherd VSE Tanpinu Noah acknowledged these shortcomings and emphasized the urgent need for the Government to address these issues for the betterment of its citizens. However, he also reaffirmed God’s purpose to take full responsibility of the problems plaguing our nation. Drawing from scriptures such as Deuteronomy 30:3, Jeremiah 32:44, and Psalms 80:19, he skillfully guided the congregation in prayer, seeking divine intervention and guidance.
For one highly focused and intense hour, series of prayer sessions were conducted for Nigeria. The Choir with their harmonious voices and rhythmic lyrics led the service, creating a celestial atmosphere.
In conclusion, the Shepherd urged members to comply with Government laws and uphold the integrity of Celestial Church through their behavior. The speech delivered by President Tinubu on Independence Day further reinforced the unwavering stance of VSE Tanpinu Noah.
President Tinubu eloquently stated, “Let us, at this very moment, affirm that as Nigerians, we are all endowed with the sacred rights and individual gifts that God has bestowed on us as a nation and as human beings. No one is greater or lesser than the other. The triumphs that Nigeria has achieved shall define us. The travails we have endured shall strengthen us. And no other nation or power on this earth shall keep us from our rightful place and destiny”.As we reflect on Nigeria’s journey towards progress and unity, let us remember the power of prayer and the unwavering faith that sustains us.
