Through the divine grace bestowed upon MSE Olarinde to manage conflicts, the Parish has begun to rebuild the unity of their mission. The general congregation of Celestial Church also commends the Pastor’s decision to appoint MSE Olarinde as the Shepherd Administrator of the 49-year-old Parish.
However, recent activities surrounding MSE Olarinde’s continued tenure have led the Parish into another crisis. Presently, the Parish members have expressed their joyful hearts of worship under the leadership of MSE Olarinde. They have unanimously decided to officially request the Pastor’s approval to allow MSE Olarinde to stay for a period of 24 months in order to fully implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Parish members.
There have been unofficial rumors circulating regarding the immediate transfer of MSE Olarinde from the Parish. The Parish has publicly declared their total rejection of any attempt to create further unrest by transferring MSE Olarinde back to Nigeria without him completing the assigned task.
In another unexpected turn of events, It was said that the Pastor has authorized Mother Celestial Ebun to call and preside over a meeting of members who are still embroiled in legal disputes. This decision has left many Celestial members skeptical, as it raises questions about why the Pastor would allow a female member to preside over a meeting when the Church hierarchy clearly designates the Shepherd of the Parish as the one in charge.
According to the Church Constitution, specifically sections 191 and 192, the Founder Pastor SBJ Oshoffa respectfully does not empower female members to administer functions that concern the Church. Section 192 only allows for a situation where a female member can preach outside the church in a public gathering, but not in a scenario where a Most Superior Evangelist is present. As a result, some Elders who have dedicated their time and resources to restoring the Parish have distanced themselves from this unfriendly decision made by the Church authority.
We urgently call upon the Pastor to reconsider any decision that will cause another displeasure among the members of CCC Metropolitan Parish.
