The continuous verbal abuse of Pastor David Ibiyeomie to the general congregation of Celestial Church of Christ must be address with total attention from our constituted authority. Celestial Church of Christ is a registered religious organization in Nigeria while we have the constitutional right to defend your institution against any external attack from a fellow Pastor who is on the march to fight Jesus Christ.
Baba SBJ Oshoffa had foresee a situation where an external body will challenge our doctrinal practice, the Pastor Founder established a framework to manage such issues with relevant government agencies. Section 148 (iii) & (iv) empowered the Board of Trustees to coordinate any external matter relating to the Church, however we are in a situation of dispute between the registered BOT & the Pastor over the dissolution of the Board.
But section 108 of the Church Constitution further allowed the Pastor to take constructive decision in the best interest of the Church. The verbal statement of Pastor David Ibiyeomie in another video where he claimed to have attended Celestial Church of Christ before his exodus from the Church. He uncontrollable speak against the Church without caution, it will be appropriate that the Church officially sue him for defamation of character.
Section 373 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria explained that defamatory matter is matter likely to injure the reputation of any person by exposing him to hatred, contempt, or ridicule, or likely to damage any person in his profession or trade by any injury to his reputation.
Such matter may be expressed in spoken words or in any audible sounds, or in words legibly marked on any substance whatever, or by any sign or object signifying such matter otherwise than by words, and may be expressed either directly or by insinuation or irony.
The Nigerian Courts have defined defamation as any written or printed article published of and concerning a person without lawful justification or excuse and tending to expose him to public contempt, scorn, obloquy, ridicule, shame or disgrace, or intending to induce an evil opinion of him in the mind of right thinking persons, or injure him in his profession, occupation or trade is libelous and actionable, whatever the intention of the writer may have been.
We will be expecting the Church authority to take the necessary legal action against Pastor David Ibiyeomie for future reference.
Halleluyah,as a proud celestial, i will give all my support to fight any issues or matters that will tarnish the image or doctrine of celestial, we should all stand to defend our faith and belief, appropriate actions must be taken against the so called David ibioyemi,I watched all his preaching about celestial on tv,trying to ridicule celestian,if truly is a pastor as claimed i don't think he should be throwing stone to the body of christ, his duty is to win souls for christ, for this reason and appropriate action should be taken by the pastor to stop any further misbehaviour from all these so call fake pastors
